Connect your WhatsApp number
Nexora sends and receives messages through Meta's official WhatsApp Business API. You have two ways to get started.
#Option 1: start on the shared number (today)
You can start right away on Nexora's shared WhatsApp number. Customers who message it reach your workspace, so you can set up the AI agent, test flows and see how everything works before connecting your own number.
#Option 2: connect your own business number
Most businesses connect their own number so customers see their business name.
- Open Settings and go to the WhatsApp connection page.
- Request a connection. Our team connects your number, usually within 24 to 48 hours.
- Once connected, your number shows as live in the top bar, and templates you create are submitted from your own WhatsApp Business account.
The number must not already be active on the regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app. A number can be on the app or on the API, not both. If you use the number on your phone today, you'll need to move it (and stop using the app on it) before it can be connected.
#Before you connect: a checklist
| Check | Why |
|---|---|
| You have access to the number to receive a verification code | Meta verifies ownership |
| The number isn't active on the WhatsApp app | Required by Meta |
| Your business name matches your website or documents | Helps with Meta's display-name approval |
| You have a Facebook / Meta Business account (or can create one) | The WhatsApp Business account lives under it |
#If your connection expires
Meta sometimes needs you to reconnect your WhatsApp Business account. When this happens, pages like Commerce show a red banner: Your WhatsApp connection has expired. Click Reconnect WhatsApp, follow the steps, then refresh the page. Messages can't be sent until you reconnect.
